wherever english goes...

Sorry, but I've got to throw up. I've just heard a totally mindless pseudo review of a new movie on a would-be trendy Austrian radio station.... in English... oh the inventor of Spy Book is actually shy ----- now, that is really depth psychology. when you hear the phrase "youngest billionaire" you know it's capitalist trash, mindless hagiography and ideological pablum! Thank god for Michael Dawson and The Consumer Trap (blog and book) http://www.consumertrap.com/ Wherever English goes.... bad ideas are sure to follow.... As Wierzbicka argues at length, it's not (the English language isn't) some sort of pure medium of communication..... though her examples and arguments are rather more sophisticated than what I've just said....

correction
WHOOPS! Sorry about that! Wierzbicka does NOT say that bad ideas follow English. She is scholarly and objective. That's me talking about "bad" ideas, not her. She does, however, argue that English is not at all a mere tool for communication and is not ideologically neutral.
